Hey family!!
Things are going good, it was good talking to you. And maybe next time me and stephen can talk in spanish or something ha. But ya it hasnt been too long since we talked so not a lot of new stuff has happened. Our apartment is really nice. Its just us two living in it. So we have one room for where we sleep and then our other room where we study. And its pretty nice, i would say nicer then some of the other elder's apartments that i have seen. My companions name is Elder Castillo and he is from El Salvador but has lived in the states for the past couple of years. Things are good with him, i feel he gets frustrated with me sometimes cuz i cant always understand everything he says and everything that i want to say. But it will come, each day my understanding gets better and better, which has been really nice.
Zone conference was actually really good!! There was a lot that i learned. I guess like a couple weeks before we got there we had a general authority come down and do like a mission tour and he kind of changed things around in our mission and like with our stats and everything. So I am apart of like the new generation of things going on in this mission. And i have heard that we are like one of the highest baptizing missions. SO thats kind of cool. Its just really hard down here with the Hispanics. They all are pretty much catholic, with some exceptions, and its just really hard to teach them especially when they arent really open to it. But one thing that the general authority said is that "this mission is on the verge of great things." So i find it interesting that i am out here on my mission at this specific time. So i wonder how that will go.
The weather up here is crazy. haha. Its like between 50 and 60 degrees and its super windy. There hasnt been a day when it hasnt been windy. Also its super dusty, its just dust galore. When we walk anywhere its just a thick dust everywhere. This area is really cool. Its completely different then what I am used to. Tons of really small houses and its just completely different but i love it. Its a new expereince for me. I hope i go out to Dodge City or Garden City sometime cuz i heard that is a change as well.
Well i guess we had a few interesting stories. I forgot to tell you. I think it was on Sunday and we were tracting and this girl is jogging by and my comp told me to go talk to her but i was to shy and said no cuz she was runnning and stuff. And then i was just like AHHH i need to be more bold with my things. And then sometime later she came running down the other side of the street. So i was just like this is my opportunity and so i walked out the the street and we started jogging with her and we got a return appointment. It was so funny, but cool at the same time. I mean if i was jogging and some guys just started jogging with me talking im sure i would want them to come share something with me too haha. Jk. But seriously that was pretty cool.
Yesterday we visited a referall and taught him a lesson. Kind of... He was really out of it and we would ask him questions and he would just sit there. So idk if he was like drunk or something but he was just having a really hard time cuz his friends got deported and stuff. So we tried to share a message with him. It was just hard so were going to go back another day. Also i was feeling yesterday we needed to go talk to this guy named Juan. So we went over to his house and he came out and i just told him that We had a message for him. And that that was the reason i came back. So we started teaching and i thought it was going good and all. And then he kind of stopped us and told us he respected us but that he wasnt very interested, but he hoped that we have sucess in all we do. So that was kind of sad, but we will see how things go. We left him with a foyeto and a tarjeta with our numbers on them. So hopefully he will call us sometime.
Well i guess thats all thats going on. I love you all. Things are going great. Thanks for keeping me in your prayers.
Love,
Elder Kingsley
